Celebrating Women’s History Month 2023.  There are so many stories uncovering courageous women of the past that have forged the path and created opportunities for women today. They stand testament to a women’s character of strength, tenacity, and loving caring power. These women displayed living a life of truth to self despite all odds. Of course, their path is different than yours, or mine, but reading their stories gives us inspiration to accept the power we all have when we confront our truth, overcome our fears, and live the life we know we are meant to have. So as an ode to women everywhere the second story is about Marie Curie

Marie Curie  

Marie Curie is the second story about courageous women of history who has made a real impact in the world. She was a physicist and chemist who earned her degree in science in 1903. She was a pioneer in research on radioactivity. She is remembered most for her discovery of radium and polonium, and her huge contribution to finding treatments for cancer. 

Marie Curie was the first person to win the Noble prize twice, she was the first woman to win the Noble prize, and the only person to win a Nobel Prize in two scientific fields.  Marie Curie has helped save millions and millions of lives through her work and study, championing radiation in the use of medicine. It is stated she had a pet tiger. One of her famous quotes is “Nothing in life is to be feared; it is only to be understood.” 

Marie Curie the second courageous woman of history to be celebrated paved the way for scientific institutions to be more accepting of females. She too was tenacious in her ability to be herself and lived a life she believed in, despite the odds.

Marie Curie provides us all with an example of belief in self and doing what we know we are meant to do. She is an inspiration to overcome challenges through knowledge, understanding, perseverance and tenacity.
