How to overcome Challenges
When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves. Victor Frankl
Learning how to overcome challenges is a big part of life. Let’s face it, we all face challenges, it is an inevitable fact of living. Some challenges of course are harder than others and sometimes it seems like the challenges never stop. So, the question would be how do you overcome challenges? Do they consume you and overshadow all things in your life? Do you sit and worry and worry and worry…. Or do you do what you can, put it on a shelf, and then discover how you can change who you are despite it.
This question, how to overcome challenges, defines who we are and what we can achieve in life. We need to understand that there are many facets to our day and to our life that will be challenging, with the most challenging ones being something we never thought of. We need to remember that the outcome of not going inside and learning who you are, what your strengths are, what your worth is will allow the challenge to consume you leading to fear, irritation, despair, and physical ailments.
I know it sounds harsh and uncaring when I say this, but challenges are a part of life. Some of us get challenges that are just not fair. Life is an unusual sequence of circumstances that no one gets to control. When we begin to think we are a target or that we are in control is when anxiety and depression take hold. The truth is that we are not in control of many things in our lives. Other circumstances like people, places and things factor in which lead to the real challenge learning how to understand that we are not in control of those people, places, or things.
So, how do you overcome life challenges, and calm your nerves when things seem unbearable? Some simple practices are taking a moment to release the challenge by finding a mantra or quote to repeat over and over. Identify the tension in your body and breathe to release it. Be grateful for another day to experience this beautiful mess we call life. And most importantly, of course, hug your pet.
If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, consider exploring animal-assisted therapy . It is a powerful tool for healing and growth. By engaging in therapy to explore your emotions while connecting with a therapy animal in a supportive environment, you can overcome the negative beliefs and patterns that hold you back from embracing a joyous life and more loving and accepting sense of self.
Wishing you a life filled with strength and tenacity.
